Pink bananas -- the fruit flipped from tropical yellow to soft pink, arranged in a repeating pattern. The banana as motif has a rich pop art history: Andy Warhol designed the Velvet Underground's banana album cover in 1967. In pattern form, the fruit becomes abstract, almost decorative -- closer to wallpaper than still life. The pink colourway removes it further from nature and into pure visual pleasure. Printed in gallery-quality UV ink on Grade-A Canadian maple.
