Jan Matejko Stańczyk – Polish Historical Painting Skateboard Wall Art

$163.00

Jan Matejko painted Stańczyk in 1862, at age 24. The court jester sits alone in a dark corner while a party continues behind him — he has just received news of the Polish city of Smolensk falling to Moscow. Stańczyk was historically known for sharp political wit, and Matejko used him as a self-portrait. The painting now hangs at the National Museum in Warsaw.
