Velázquez Las Meninas Skateboard Wall Art
Diego Velazquez painted Las Meninas in 1656 in the Royal Alcazar of Madrid. The painting shows the Infanta Margarita surrounded by her ladies-in-waiting, dwarfs, and a dog -- and Velazquez himself at his easel, painting a large canvas. In the background, a mirror reflects the King and Queen of Spain, who appear to be the subjects of the painting Velazquez is working on. Whether the viewer stands in the position of the king and queen is still debated. Picasso made 58 interpretations of it. The painting is at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
