Caravaggio Medusa – Baroque Mythology Horror Skateboard Wall Art
Caravaggio painted the Medusa around 1597 on a convex leather-covered wooden shield — a functional tournament piece commissioned by Cardinal del Monte as a diplomatic gift for the Grand Duke of Tuscany. The face is believed to be Caravaggio's own self-portrait. The shield has been at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence since 1631.
