Reni Christ Crowned with Thorns Skateboard Art
Guido Reni painted Christ Crowned with Thorns in the 1630s, one of several versions he produced of this subject in his later years. Reni, based in Bologna, was one of the most technically skilled Baroque painters in Italy and was enormously popular with collectors during his lifetime. This composition focuses entirely on the face and crown — the suffering distilled to a single upward gaze.
